Hospital was original built in 1981 by Dr. Richard Badger who opened
its doors on April 6, 1981. It began as a single doctor practice.
The practice flourished and by 1987, the building had to be remodeled
to accommodate the workload. Dr. Mark Swaney began relief work at
the clinic in 1996 and purchased it in 1999, opening the new chapter
on June 1, 1999.
Dr. Swaney and Dr. Tabata
are 1991 graduates of The Ohio State University. Their professional
affiliations include the Washington State Veterinary Medical Association,
Peninsula Veterinary Medical Association, American Veterinary Dental
Society, American Association of Feline Practitioners, Cornell Feline
Health Center, and the American Veterinary Medical Association among
others. Both doctors attend regular continuing education to stay
abreast of the most up-to-date options for their patients' care.
Dr. Pinto is a Kitsap
county native and 2000 graduate of Washington State University,
Dr. Pinto brings years of experience to our veterinary team, with
special interests in the fields of behavior, dermatology, and nutrition.
Married with 2 grown children, she is an avid athlete, outdoor enthusiast
and Scrabble aficionado. In her off time, Dr. Pinto can be found
mountain biking, road cycling, hiking or being adored by her canine
companions, Eddie and Rooster.
